“Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in Good Health.”

Christ

3 John 2:2 New King James Version

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

3 John New King James Version

Greeting to Gaius

The Elder,

To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth:

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in [a]truth.

Gaius Commended for Generosity

Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren [b]and for strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well, because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles. We therefore ought to receive[c] such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.

Diotrephes and Demetrius

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us. 10 Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating[d] against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church.

11 Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, [e]but he who does evil has not seen God.

12 Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the truth itself. And we also [f]bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true.

Farewell Greeting

13 I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink; 14 but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face.

Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

James 3:13-18 The Right Kind of Wisdom

“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”

“Whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven. Whatever you loose on earth, shall be loosed in heaven.”

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

I saw a beautiful dog 🐶 🐕 at the Murphy USA name Honey. I encouraged a sister to put her child at Ezell-Harding Christian (she saw my Ezell t-shirt and asked if I taught there…I used to but I still co-sign Ezell ❤️♥️☺️🥰) and paid for gas with a gentleman named Timothy. All these are signs that everything IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT!

This is the reason that Christians must share the Gospel is in Ephesians 3:6. It is open to all people. It is for all. We need to remember that even when we were still sinners, Jesus died to open the way for us to be saved by grace through faith. I am compelled by the real charge given to us to teach the lost about Jesus. We have been given gifts and talents to do that.

Praying for God’s Word to penetrate believers and unbelievers.

I am a failing Christian. Dramatic. However, I fail to love.

And in God’s eyes, all my purity is as filthy rags. Yet the love I show will be judged.

Father, I pray that You will retrain my heart and my mind to LOVE, to truly LOVE IN ACTION, not just in flowery words.

In Jesus Christ’s name,

Amen!

Are You Extraordinary?

Beauty, Christ, Family, RetroStank

Recently, I have been examining the theme of satisfaction versus dissatisfaction. How many of you can remember a time when you were incredibly blessed with something new, needed, incredible, miraculous, or long-awaited, only to arrive at this beautiful, climatic moment with a Womp-Womp-Womp reception? Maybe for you, it was the last day of the semester, the promotion, the move, the holiday you finally got to host, the “Wedding Day”, or the healing of a medical condition. Celebration is honey to the heart. It soothes the gashes of drudgery, like honey binds our physical scratches. Its sweetness blends in with our blood and stops the bleeding. Honey is good on toast, berries, and fried chicken; it is smooth in hot tea or lemon-water. Bees produce it, Yogi Bear and Winnie-the-Pooh can’t get enough of it!

HEART HONEY=CELEBRATION

Genuine rejoicing attracts people. Think of how people turn their heads when one person bursts into a “Whoo-hoo!”, “Yes!”, or “DAB!”  Jubilation is to be smiled at, no?

That’s some good stuff!

With the knowledge of celebration’s power, I ask are you extraordinary? Are the people around you appreciating your efforts? Are you celebrated? Are you filled with heart honey? You are definitely extraordinary. People may or may not appreciate  your efforts. And that hurts…

One would not cry because his delicious bowl of juicy berries is now trash because yesterday his brother ate all the honey with his toast, and no one has gone to Kroger yet.

However, the tears would well up like little footsoldiers ready for battle if that same brother purposefully “forgot” his birthday or missed his wedding.

We have an effect on one another.

When you snap on someone because you are tired or when you half-listen to your friend’s exciting story, they can detect that and it hurts.

Celebration=Heart Honey

Love is shown.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

Verse 5, “It does not dishonor others.”

Boom! I am guilty.

I Know for a fact I have dishonored my husband, my family, my friends, and others just by being absent. Too self-absorbed with my own mess to celebrate. Too tired to “rejoice with truth” (v. 6).

Recently, we, as a family, have received innumerable blessings: we received a bountiful check, we had an angel of a cousin to “put” us in a new car through her Love, attention, and care, I finished out my first year of teaching (at eight months pregnant), my husband received another 100 on a Secret Shopper survey, and the car seat we were headed to Babies’R’Us to buy is being purchased by a benevolent and loving church member!

So many causes to CELEBRATE!

But sometimes, the workdays make us weary and tiny miscommunications frustrate us to no end and all the Good gets swallowed.

Are you Extraordinary?

Yes! We know that Psalms 119:73-74 says: You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands. May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.  Isaiah 64:8  reminds us: Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

1 Peter 4:10-11  tells us: God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Matthew 10:29-31 says: What is the price of two sparrows–one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.  Psalm 139:16 reads: You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

Well, why aren’t you satisfied?

Psalm 139:2-4 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.

Our little memories are SHOOOOOORT! We forget that God is omnipotent. We forget that the person standing in front of us, enraging us is God’s special and peculiar handiwork. We forget that we are to be forgiving. We forget that he or she is in the midst of their own struggles, too. We forget that our Celebration is Heart Honey that can heal wounds. We forget that our attitude tells one another you are extraordinary or You Ain’t Worth $%!t.

Romans 8:32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

Timing. Waiting for the “everything else”, we get weary. How about giving God a big helping of Heart Honey and celebrating His mighty name, when you know that, you know that you know, that your flesh/ego/old man is about fed up?

Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

As a wife, I am joined to my husband and my celebration is everything to him.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Cameala Bass did a beautiful thing for us, and photographed our family on Sunday.

As I gazed and savored each piece of frozen time, I marvelled at how extraordinary our family looked. I mean, Wow! Who are those three attractive, remarkable, stunning individuals? Are you extraordinary? Are you celebrated?

I MUST celebrate my husband. He is a champion of Endurance. He is a fighter. He is a strong tower. He is a listener. He is a planner. He is faithful. He is patient. He is worthy of my adoration, PERIOD, regardless of his actions. Love is about your action.

Lord, teach us to celebrate one another. Teach us to love as you love. Give us words and deeds that encourage, give us the hands and the lips to raise up good fruit. Forgive our failures, forgive our faults, forgive us, Oh God! Call to our remembrance what pleases you and help us to pour Heart Honey on loved ones and strangers. Let our lives shine for you and help us to be good to one another.

In Christ’s name,

Amen.

(Below are a few pictures. 🙂 I had to CELEBRATE!)
